Discover the Chelsea clinic keeping London’s elite beautiful

I’ve always been a lover of natural beauty and skincare, opting to massage my face with innocent, wholesome things such as ground walnut kernels and sea kelp farmed from the cold Irish Sea. Sadly, there comes a time in life when the vegan seaweed face masks just don’t cut it. You start craving something slightly more ‘noticeable’, yet you don’t want to go down the scary surgical route.

Like many ’30 somethings’ with a love of facial plumpness and smoothness, I was tempted by non-surgical aesthetic procedures, yet worried about actually taking the plunge (or needle so to speak). I wanted to look pleasantly ‘refreshed,’ rather than looking as though I got work done at the National Aesthetic Institute of Instagram.

This all changed when I was introduced to the renowned “Botox Nurse of London,” Libbie Wallace.

Libbie Wallace

I visited Libbie for a consultation at The Cadogan Clinic and instantly felt at ease with the elegant, minimalist decor of the place.

This word-of-mouth Chelsea-based clinic is discreetly located in London’s chic Sloane Street and is regularly frequented by celebrities and royal figures from across the world – many of whom have seen outstanding results in their friends and family and crave the same.

One of the UK’s leading cosmetic surgery and aesthetic treatment practices, this purpose-built medical facility was designed specifically to provide world-leading private healthcare in a comfortable and luxurious setting.

Founded in 2008 by Mr Bryan Mayou, a pioneering plastic surgeon best known for introducing liposuction to the UK, the Cadogan Clinic team is made up of the creme de la creme of the aesthetic industry – all hand-picked for their industry authority, notable published research and innovative ideas.

The Cadogan Clinic specialises in cosmetic surgery procedures, non-surgical cosmetic treatments and dermatology, so no mater what kind of aesthetic results you wish to achieve, you’ll most likely be able to find a treatment to suit.

I was unsure what I ‘needed’, yet after my chat with the extremely warm-natured and knowledgeable Libbie, I decided to break my Botox virginity to smooth a few fine lines on my forehead and around the eye area, as well as contouring my jawline and regaining the plumpness I had lost with the use of Juvaderm Volume and Volift.

Being quite the skinny minny all my life, I found that as I’ve gotten older, the fullness in my face has decreased slightly – and no amount of burgers would fix it. So, I decided to follow Libbie’s expert advice to try to recreate this fullness with these award winning aesthetic products.

These Juvaderm fillers are made up of skin-enhancing ingredients that are naturally occurring in the dermis, and work to subtly contour and plump up the face.

When I returned to undergo the treatment, I was nervous due to my ridiculous (and slightly embarrassing) fear of any level of pain, but Libbie made me feel at ease with her friendly, reassuring nature and expert answers to all my annoying questions.

Most of the products used contained numbing ingredients, so when they were administered I felt only tiny jabs and minimal discomfort.

I was also relieved to hear that nothing is permanent – Botox lasts between 3 – 5 months, whereas the fillers last up to a year, but can be removed if you don’t like the result.

I’ve always been the proud owner of a plump pout, yet I felt the naughty hands of time had affected their pillowy nature, so Libby boosted my lips with a smidgen (0.4mg to be exact) of Juvederm Vobella to complete my ‘perked up’ look (as seen in the cheeky pic of me on the left).

I left feeling 100% percent satisfied with the results of my treatments, although optimum results were seen after around 3 weeks – the time I started getting oodles of complements from friends. My jawline and chin area now look more defined, my cheeks are gloriously plumper, forehead completely smooth and line-free (Hallelujah for Botox!) and my lips are now graced with a perfect angel pout.
